No production line. Emmet chooses, cuts, shapes and finishes each hurl in the family workshop, and he’ll copy the one you already trust.

A family trade, worked by hand.
Emmet Martin started repairing broken hurls around Randalstown at fifteen. More than twelve years on, he runs the workshop full-time with his father Colum, long known locally as the town’s best hurl repairer. Every Martin Hurl, from a juvenile’s first stick to an order of over 3,000 for Croke Park, is made at their bench at the family home.

Four stages, one pair of hands.

Cut
Each hurl starts as a board of ash, chosen for strength, flexibility and grain, then cut to profile on the bandsaw.

Shape
The bás is worked down by hand on the sander to the shape and size the player has asked for.

Refine
The handle is taken down and smoothed until the hurl sits right in the hand and the balance feels true.

Grip
Gripped in the colour you choose, stamped with the MH mark, then sent with tracked delivery.

The top 3% of our ash.
Emmet picks every piece of Grade A ash for grain, bás, balance and weight, then shapes and finishes it to your spec. An XL grip and a coat of Hurley Essence come with it.
